Thermal and Shrinkage Cracking in Suspended Slabs

Several papers have been written to deal with individual aspects of shrinkage/thermal movement. However, fully worked examples, especially those which cover each step of the process, are hard to find. The Concrete Society has published a Concrete Advice Sheet describing a conventional floor slab with varying degrees of end restraint and highlights the various correction factors which have been introduced to cover the uncertainties inherent in the method.
