Liquid Nitrogen spillage on concrete

Repeated minor spillage of liquid nitrogen (or similar very cold liquids) e.g. through release valves, will damage concrete due to a combination of thermal shock and freeze-thaw. Protective coatings to the concrete are likely to shrink and debond. The preferred strategy is to provide an effective renewable drip tray with insulation or an air gap beneath to prevent any spillages damaging the concrete itself.
