Construction Waste

Construction and demolition is the single largest UK waste stream, and includes over 20% of all hazardous waste and 20% of fly-tipped waste. Waste accounts for up to 5% of construction project value. 

This has lead to the construction industry paying an estimated £200 million per year in landfill tax, which will rise with further tax increases and planned construction activity over the next decade. This, together with a host of additional legislative requirements, means the issue of waste is likely to rise in importance to all those in the construction sector.
