Beams and columns (BS EN 13225)
The requirements for the basic performance criteria and evaluation of conformity for precast beams, columns and frame elements made from reinforced or prestressed normal weight concrete, used for the construction of buildings and other civil engineering structures (except bridges), are given in:
BS EN 13225: 2004, Precast concrete products – Linear structural elements.
The document includes values for dimensional tolerances for columns and beams. An Annex deals with precautions against the lateral bucking of beams during lifting, transport and placing.
