Off site production

Off-site production technologies offer the potential for reductions in cost, shorter programme times, fewer defects and fewer accidents on site. Overall there is a consequent increase in predictability, turnover and profits.

The precast concrete sector has much to offer, as all precast elements are produced off-site in factories. Prefabrication can occur at varying levels, to form part or all of the completed structure. Precast concrete units range from elements which are joined together on site (such as beams and columns to form the structural frame) through to fully fitted out accommodation units, where all services and furnishings are installed, delivered on lorries and simply craned into position.
