In service deterioration - environmental

There will be some signs of deterioration on any structures in service. There may be cracks caused by intended or accidental loads. The surface of the concrete will be affected, to a greater or lesser extent, by the environment or chemicals in the immediate vicinity. In a few cases, the concrete itself may deteriorate because of faulty materials.
