Building Regulations
The Building Regulations cover all aspects of the design of a building, to ensure the safety of the structure itself, its performance and the well-being of its users.
The requirements for safety will generally be satisfied if the structure is designed to BS 8110 (now replaced by BS 1992-1 Eurocode 2). In-service aspects include heat and sound insulation, fire safety, hygiene and access for disabled people.
