Developments in reinforcement and prestressing

As Codes and Standards for materials and for design have developed over the years, so the properties of steel reinforcement have improved. In addition the methods of identifying the different materials on reinforcement drawings have changed. Many different types of prestressing system have been available over the years. A knowledge of these various developments is clearly essential when assessing existing structures.
