Definitions of the various terms relating to the use of concrete in building and civil engineering may be found in the various Parts of BS 6100, Glossary of building and civil engineering terms.
With the advent of European Standards, new words and phrases have been introduced to describe aspects of cement and concrete. Using the correct terminology when describing or specifying concrete is most important.
