Precast concrete certification
The UK Certification Authority for Reinforcing Steels (generally known as UK CARES or CARES) operates a certification scheme for precast concrete units, covering the manufacture and supply of products. Manufacturers are required to operate a management system that complies with BS EN ISO 9001 or 9002.
The scheme is based on satisfactory control materials, concrete mix design and batching, fixing of reinforcement, placement and compaction of concrete, dimensional accuracy and concrete finishing.
