UKAS Testing
The United Kingdom Accreditation Scheme (UKAS) provides accreditation for testing and calibration laboratories. UKAS is the sole national certifying body recognised by the Government and operates under a Memorandum of Understanding from the Department of Trade and Industry. It is recognised internationally through European and elsewhere through multi-lateral agreements.
It should be noted that laboratories holding UKAS accreditation do so for a particular test or series of tests. The accreditation does not necessarily cover all the tests that the laboratory offers.
