Designated - ready-mixed concrete
An alpha-numeric reference system is used to ‘designate’ these mixes for particular purposes. The mix is chosen form a list of designated concretes (GEN, FND, PAV, RC etc) depending on the site conditions and the application for which it is to be used.
The mix is produced in accordance with BS 8500 and requires the producer to hold a current product conformity certificate based on product testing and surveillance, couple with approval of the producers quality system to BS EN ISO 9000.
