Common European Standards are being prepared to cover all aspects of design.
The basis of design (for all materials) is considered in BS EN 1990, Eurocode - Basis of structural design, and its associated UK National Annex.
The design of concrete structures is dealt with in Eurocode 2 (EN 1992), Design of concrete structures. The various parts are given below. Each is accompanied by a National Annex. Following publication, there will be a period of consultation during which the European Standards will coexist with British Standards. In due course British Standards will be withdrawn, being completely replaced by the European Standards. All Eurocodes should be read in conjunction with the National Annexes.
BS EN 1992-1-1: General rules and rules for buildings
BS EN 1992-1-2: Structural fire design
BS EN 1992-2: Concrete bridges
BS EN 1992-3: Liquid retaining and containing structures
Information on Eurocodes in general and on design issues can be found at: www.eurocode2.info
There are various relevant publications from The Concrete Centre, including How to design concrete structures using Eurocode 2, Concise Eurocode 2 and Concise Eurocode 2 for bridges.
The BSI have FAQs on the introduction of Eurocodes.
