Erosion protection

There are a variety of precast blocks that are suitable for erosion protection, for river banks and similar applications. These may be individual units that lock together when laid in position. Alternatively a number of blocks may be laced together with steel cables to form a flexible mat. This allows rapid installation, with the mat´s flexibility allowing it to follow irregularities in the surface of the ground.

For lightly trafficked areas (such as overflow car parks or where access is only occasionally required) various cellular concrete blocks are available that allow grass to grow through them. Once mature they give the general appearance of a grassed area while retaining the ability to support traffic.
