Concrete drainage

Many different types of precast concrete units are available for drainage application. Buried pipes, culverts and manhole sections of precast concrete have to be designed for the loading imposed by backfill and traffic over the drain. In addition, the concrete must be correctly specified to resist attack from chemicals in the ground or in the fluids passing through the system.

Design should be in accordance with BS 5911, Precast concrete pipes, fittings and ancillary products.
