What is Sustainability?
The principles of Sustainability were defined by the Rio Declaration as The central development parameters of man and the environment must be so structured that the long tern existence of human society is guaranteed.
An alternative definition of sustainable development by the World Commission on Environment and Development is Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
The concrete industry makes every effort to adhere to these principles, from the production of materials, through construction and in-service performance to eventual demolition and recycling.
