Transport & placing

Ready mixed concrete is transported in purpose-built trucks. In some cases it may be discharged directly into its final location at the construction site but generally it will have to be moved (for example by crane or pump) to the required location.

Similarly precast concrete units will have to be transported by road or rail from the factory to the site, limiting the size and weight of units.
