Handling and storage of reinforcement

Care must be taken to avoid damage to bundles of reinforcement during off-loading. Slings or chains should pass fully round the bundles.

Bundles of reinforcement should be stored in a clean location, off the ground and away from mud and oil.

They should be stacked with sufficient timber supports so that the bars do not buckle, bend or sag. The bundles should be clearly identified so that they can be easily found when required.
