Cutting and bending reinforcement on site

Generally reinforcement will be supplied cut and bent to the required shape. If it is necessary to cut and bend bars on site, care must be taken to be accurate and not to damage the reinforcement.

Smaller diameter bars (up to about 12 mm) can be cut using bolt-croppers but a shearing machine will be required for larger bars. With the exception of the smallest diameters, bars can not be bent accurately by hand; a bending machine will be required.

Standard sheets of fabric can be readily cut to size on site.
