Reinforcement bending in cold weather

UKCARES, an independent, not-for-profit certification body, assess the cutting and bending operations of reinforcement in line with BS 8666:2005 Scheduling, dimensioning, bending and cutting of steel reinforcement for concrete. There is no minimum temperature requirement within that standard.

BS 8110-1:1997 Structural use of concrete has a minimum temperature of +5C whereas BS EN 13670:2009 Execution of concrete clause 6.3 states -5°C. As BS 8110 has been withdrawn, BS EN 13670 should take precedence.
