Assessment of in-situ concrete strength from cores

This Technical Seminar aims to provide guidance on the forthcoming heavily revised Standards relating to the assessment of in-situ concrete strength with emphasis on the analysis of core test results.


The event will offer an in-depth insight for engineers, supervisors, laboratory, technical managers and technicians with the focus upon practical interpretation of the newly revised BS EN 13791 and BS EN 12504-1, plus guidance in the forthcoming Technical Report CEN/TR 17086. On their publication BS 6089 will be withdrawn.


Registration for the Morning session is at 09:45 and expected to close at 13:00.

Depending on popularity additional dates will be planned and made available. On receipt of applications directions to the venue will be included. A literature pack will be supplied.

Key relationships:

BS EN 12504-1: 2019 (December):  Testing concrete in structures. Cored specimen - taking, examining and testing in compression.

BS EN 13791: 2019 (December): Assessment of in-situ compressive strength in structures and precast concrete components.

CEN/TR 17086 expected 2020: Further guidance on the application of EN 13791 and background to the provisions.
