Concrete Core Analysis

The Concrete Society - Midlands Region
Tarmac, Portland House (Dunbar Room), Bickenhill Lane, Solihull, B37 7BQ (Click here to view in Googlemaps)

The Concrete Society Midlands Region is running a free Technical Meeting offering a one hour taster into the fascinating world of concrete core analysis!
Taking cores is often an initial reaction where concern is present regarding in-situ concrete quality and can be a powerful tool in diffusing disputes, but understanding and interpretation of results is widely misunderstood across all industry sectors. This presentation will focus on understanding the basic aspects of BS EN 13791 Assessment of in-situ compressive strength in structures and pre-cast concrete components and BS 6089 Complementary guidance to that given in BS EN 13791 providing understanding of the principles, difficulties and benefits of core analysis. Other comparative test procedures will also be briefly discussed, together with practical examples of realistic analysis.
Tea and coffee available.
